Dear Chronicle,

This morning I woke up to find Giggle Sprout staring at me through his magnifying glass.

Not good.

“What are you doing?” I demanded.
“Watching your paws," said the vegetable-head.
"Why?"
"Because they’ve been flapping around like there’s no tomorrow.”

I looked at my paws.
They seemed fine to me.
He probably made that up.
He does that.

“Oh. And you were making noises too.” he stated.
Now I was scared.

“What kind of noises?”
He just smirked.
Like he knew some secret about me that even I wasn't aware of.

That rat-vegetable.

“Don’t worry,” he said. “You were just dreaming.”

Oh. That.

I’d heard that all dogs dream and figured I did too.

I just never realized I made a fool of myself while doing it.
I wondered how long he'd hold the noise thing over my head.

But what on earth could I have been dreaming about to make such a ruckus?

Chasing a squirrel? A rabbit?
Or a maybe a giant sausage?

Yeah, that must have been what it was.
The sausage thing.

Well.
This was upsetting.
There was probably charcuterie involved and
I didn’t remember any of it.

So that's how dreams work.
You have all these interesting adventures while you’re asleep.
And then you wake up and don't remember a thing.

What is the point of that?

If I’m going to spend the night chasing squirrels, rabbits and giant sausages, I should at least get to remember it.

So I’ve decided to investigate.
From now on, I’m going to sleep with one eye open.

How hard can it be?
