The Shadow-Ban Copycat

Today I was bored out of my doxie wits.
It was raining.
Stuck indoors and Giggle Sprout was nowhere to be found.

I had two options: chase my tail or chase my shadow.
I chose the shadow and decided to see how long it would take me to catch it.

Except on rainy days, shadows behave differently. Mine did, at least.
It might have skewed the results a bit. Still, I began the experiment anyway.

I took one step left. It followed.
I took one step right. It followed again.

I stopped.
The shadow stopped.

Copycat.
Or at least that’s what I thought at first.

I tried sudden movements to confuse it.
It did not appear confused in the slightest.

I whipped around and chased after it so fast that I got dizzy.
The shadow’s head wobble up and down.
It did not seem particularly concerned.

For a moment, I wondered if this was what it meant to be shadow banned.
Not gone. Very present and active, but quietly ignored by your own shadow.

Then something occurred to me.
The shadow was only there because of me.

So I suppose that made me the winner.
